Endurance race rules
3 Hour Auto Ice Race

Presented by….The New Meadows Ice Racing Association

1.5 to 2.0 ,mile plowed road course track. Payoff to 3rd place.
$75,$50,$25 payouts

Rules:

This event is limited to two wheel drive vehicles with a
maximum displacement of 4.3 liters and 112” wheel base.

Each participating team racing is required to bring one
volunteer to assist in various race activities (ie: corner
workers, crowd control, scoring, etc.)

Tire rule: Any DOT legal tire as delivered with a maximum of
13mm American road saver studs. No added studs.
Unstudded tires are allowed.

One class for all cars

Safety helmet, seat belt, fire extinguisher, working brakes,
battery hold down, nontoxic antifreeze and remove or tape all
lights, all required.

All cars must have car#'s in contrasting colors and large
enough for scorers to see. #'s on f+r windows upper right
corners recommended.

Maximum of 50 entrants.

Entry fees: $20.00 for members, $30.00 for nonmembers.

Starting positions drawn at 9:00am, race day at drivers
meeting.

Green flag drops at 9:30am SHARP !!!!

Racing is dependant on ice conditions.

New meadows ice racing association rules 2008

In general, production based sedans and sports cars, 2wd short
bed,reg. Cab pickups allowed within 112” wb. There are two
classes for 2wd cars-trucks and one for 4wd cars.

A-class:      4300cc or 4.3 litre  max.   Open class, modified
engines, suspensions etc.
Ss-class:     any a or b car that is stock in appearance, with stock
induction, exhaust and engine, suspension , interior, ect........as
delivered by the manufacturer.   Turbo’s a-class only. No gutting
interiors/panels.  You may only remove the rear seat to install a
roll bar/cage.
4wd:     any 4wd car. Tire rule applies. You may run a 4wd car but...
you must use street studded tires. No menards, black rockets,
screw tires, or added studs.

1.   Maximum 112 inch wheelbase
2.   Original firewall must be used
3.   Fuel tank must be original and in original location, with
exception of fuel cells of the same capacity as the original tank.
4.   Overall length and width of the basic body cannot be changed
5.   Bumpers, if used, must be original. They can be cut. No pipe
bumpers or sharp edges. No protruding trailer hitches.
6.   Maximum engine size is 4300cc or 4.3 litre.
7.   Any engine or driveline modifications are allowed in a-class.
8.   Car must have a least a lap/shoulder seatbelt. A 5-point
harness is strongly reccommended
9.   Car must have a 2lb. Dry chemical fire extinguisher securly
mounted within the drivers reach.
10.   Roll bar/cage are required in convertibles and roadsters.
They are recommended in sedans.
11.   Driver must wear dot approved helmet.
12.   Numbers must be displayed on both sides of the car. They
need to be at least 12’’ high and 2’’ wide. The class letter must be
at least 6’’ high on sides. Front and rear numbers and letters at
least 4’’ tall. Number colors must contrast with the background.
Numbers will be assigned by the club officers, if not pre-arranged.
13.   All cars must have some form of muffler that provides a
significant noise reduction
14.   No passengers allowed during races.
15.  Low-tox or sierra antifreeze must be used.
16.  No backup cars allowed.
17.  All vehicles must have f+r  recovery hooks-chains.


New meadows ice racing association race procedures

1.   All races will start at 11:00 a.m. on sundays. Except for
endurance races
2.   All cars must be registered at least 45 minutes before the start.
3.   Entry fees are to cover insurance and permits and are not
refundable. The fees will be $20 for dues paying members, and
$30 for non-members.
4.   Club dues are $25 per year due by January 1st. To retain your
car number, a $5.00 late fee will be imposed after January 1st.
5.   Each registered car will be allowed 4 pit passes.
6.   Drivers and pit crews must attend the drivers meeting before
the race.
7.   Starting positions will be drawn at the drivers meeting
8.   Cars not ready to start when called to line-up will fall to the rear.
9.   A standing grid start will be used, two abreast, pole to the
inside.
10.   Do not approach the scorers either during or after the race.
11.   Flag signals must be obeyed or you will be disqualified.
12.   Final decision to race will be made on sat.@ 12:00 p.m.

Yellow      slow down, no passing, period!!!
Red        stop immediately
Green        go!!!!!!
Red-yellow crossed        single file around until green
Black         go to pits
Penalties

Disqualifications and protests will be decided by the three club
officers and subject to appeal to the membership present at the
post race meeting. Protests must be made in writing within 30
minutes of the end of the race.
All club members are considered tech inspectors. Any member
that consideres a car unsafe or illegal may request to the club
officers that the problem be resolved before the car is allowed to
race.
Awards
Awards will be given out to the top three positions in each class
and overall. At
The end of the year, a trophy will be presented to the overall
champion.
