Notes from Rob
We will be holding sprint races Sunday if conditions permit. We are
going to plow the upcoming snow/rain tomorrow night so the potholes
will fill up before it freezes solid on Thursday and Friday. The only
change to the track will be the loss of the chicane on the front
stretch.1/2 mile straight stretch anyone???
More snow is predicted for Saturday but that's 5 days away.( I don't
trust the weathermen)
Like I've posted before, if the NY guys want to run SL races between
the screw tire races we have no problem with that as long as you can
provide scorers to score the races.

Quick notes on February 24 race
Really fine racing! The winner, Sandy Fotter, covered 80
laps on the 1.8 mile course, covering 144 miles averaging
just under 50 mph. The second place car was just 100 feet
behind the winner at the end.
There were 10 cars with 77 laps or more after three hours.
Less than 5.5 miles separated the 10th place car from the
winner.
The track, a little on the rough side, took a toll on some cars.
The Krauter team must be really disappointed. Marty had the
little CRX running really well until it broke. I think Ben told me
it was a tie rod.
I hope I'm not the only driver startled at the performance of
that big Audi from New York. The first time he went around
me on the outside in the far turn I thought I must have put
the Del Sol in reverse by mistake. I can usually get around
that turn as well as anyone, but that thing was amazing
before he went out, with alternator trouble I was told.
Someone please send me some pix to post.
Send them to nmiramail@gmail.com or
vern@gonzogarage.com.
If anyone knows the young boy who asked me for an
autograph after the race, please let me know. He looked
serious about it and handed be a piece of cardboard and a
yellow crayon. I wrote my name but it wasn't really legible. I'd
be happy to send him a picture of the Del Sol if someone
would tell me who and how.
The New York guys enjoyed the day. See what the have to
say about it at
http://www.runboard.com/bamecmessageboard.f1.t28247.
I apologize for not doing better with this site. The New
Yorkers went back home and got pictures and stuff posted
while I was still trying to recover from racing. I still have more
pix to post from the January race as well.
